RE: appointment of a new Principal for Leigh Academy Ebbsfleet.
You will be aware that Ms Shergill is leaving Ebbsfleet to take up a new role in the Trust as Principal of Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy in Dartford in September. I know this news will be disappointing to families at Ebbsfleet, but hope you can join me in congratulating her on this significant promotion. Ms Shergill has done a tremendous job at Ebbsfleet and I know she will be missed by all.
Following a national recruitment search, I have pleasure in letting you know that we have appointed a new, high quality Principal for September. The successful candidate, who came first in a very strong field, is Mrs Heidi Dennis who is currently one of two Heads of College at Ebbsfleet. Mrs Dennis has worked at Ebbsfleet for the past three years and has developed a very strong reputation. Before that, she was a senior leader at the Trust’s grammar school in Rochester.
Mrs Dennis’ appointment ensures maximum stability and continuity for the academy. She is deeply committed to the students at Ebbsfleet and passionate that the academy continues its current strong trajectory, building on the legacy of Ms Shergill. We will be appointing a new Head of College soon to fill the vacant position she leaves and will update you about that in due course.
